Halloween weekend is almost here, and a few things have changed since Sunday's Bothell Beat.

Northshore families have new school-closure proposals to consider, there's another bus detour to know about, and downtown Bothell has a handy map for Friday's trick-or-treating.

Here's what's new.

Northshore School District presented three proposals Monday that could close two or three elementary schools and change school boundaries.

Moorlands Elementary appears in all three proposals. Depending on the scenario, Sunrise, Cottage Lake or Hollywood Hill could also close.

Nothing has been decided yet. A School Board vote is expected in March 2027, and changes would take effect no earlier than fall 2028.

Alongside the I-405 shutdown covered in Sunday's issue, Woodinville-bound Sound Transit Route 522 will detour overnight during the October 30–November 2 construction period, between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m.

The northbound stop at Beardslee Boulevard and NE 195th Street is affected. Riders can use the eastbound UW Bothell/Cascadia College stop instead.

The City has posted its 2026 Trick-or-Treat on Main Street map, showing participating businesses and candy stops.

Remember, the event is Friday, October 30, from 5–7 p.m., not Saturday.

Free parking options include City Hall, downtown streets and Park at Bothell Landing.
