August 31–September 6, 2026

👋 A Note Before We Start

Thanks to everyone who read Issue #0 and took the time to share feedback. It was genuinely helpful. I'll keep learning as this takes shape, so if you spot an event, local change or neighborhood detail worth sharing, just reply and send it my way. This week has a little of each.

📍 Three Things to Know

🌳 Part of the Wayne Open Space will close until winter 2028

Starting in early September, the half of the former Wayne Golf Course known as the “Back 9” will close for creek and river restoration. It is expected to remain closed through winter 2028.

The other half of the former course, known as the “Front 9,” and neighboring Blyth Park will stay accessible.

🚌 Taking the 522? Your Link connection has changed

As of August 29, Route 522 connects to Link at Shoreline South Station instead of Roosevelt. Check your trip before heading out Monday. Also useful for weekend plans: Route 535 now runs every 30 minutes during the day on weekends.

🎒 A quick Northshore school reminder

Grades 1–5, 6 and 9 generally start Tuesday, September 1; most other middle and high school students start Wednesday, September 2. Kindergarten and some programs differ.
